THE GOLDEN CIRCLE CLASSIC

Hoy os presento uno de los recorrídos más famosos y más bonitos de Islandia, el Circulo de Oro! 

Today I want to show you one of the most famous and beautiful tours of Iceland, the Golden Circle! 

El autobús Gray line de la compañía Iceland Excursions salió a las 8.30 de la mañana desde el centro de Reykjavik, y empezamos a dirigirnos hacia Nesjavellir, una de las zonas termales más grandes cerca del lago þingvallavatn. 

Durante el trayecto, pasamos por la misma carretera en la que Ben Stiller se desliza con skate en la pelicula, La Vida Secreta de Walter Mitty . Os la recomiendo es muy buena! 

The bus of Iceland Excursions (Grayline) left at 8.30 in the morning from the city center of Reykjavik and we start by driving to Nesjavellir, one of the biggest geothermal area near Þingvallavatn's lake. 

We went throught the same road that Ben Stiller slides with skateboard in The Secret Live of Walter Mitty's movie. 

En esta foto podéis ver el humo que sale de la zona termal y el lago al fondo.

In this photo you can see the smoke of the geothermal area and the lake at the end . 

Bienvenidos al Parque Nacional de Þingvellir,patrimonio natural de la humanidad  por la Unesco, donde los vikingos encontraron el parlamento Alþingi el 930 DC. 

Aquí encontraréis las placas tectónicas que separan los continentes de Estados Unidos y Europa. 

Welcome to þingvellir National Park, Unesco's world heritage where Icelandic parliament Alþingi was founded by Vikings in year 930 AD. 

Here you'll find the tectonic plates that separate United States and Europe continents. 

Es un sitio precioso y tranquilo para pasear y pasar el día disfrutando de estas vistas y descubrir pequeñas cascadas durante el recorrido.

There's a really nice and calm  place to go for a walk and spend all day enjoying these views and discover little waterfalls during the tour. 

Más tarde fuímos a Gullfoss, la cascada más ruidosa pero con más encanto en la que he estado desde que he llegado a Islandia. Si no me creéis mirad esta parejita de enamorados! 

After that we went to Gullfoss waterfall, the loudest but most charming I've been since I've come to Iceland. If you don't believe me just look this couple in love ! 

No puedo evitar sentirme la chica más afortunada del mundo al tener la oportunidad de vivir en este país y descubrir todos  estos lugares mágicos. 

I'm feeling like the luckiest girl of the world to have the opportunity to live in this country and discover all this magic places. 

Uno de los sitios que me moría por ver, los Geysers!! Si, allí estaba, no me lo podía creer! Mis ojos no miraban otra cosa, que los movimientos increibles que hacía el agua! Vamos que una se queda allí flipando en colores e intentando ver si hay un elfo bajo tierra con una manguera! 

One of the places that I had more desire to see, Geysir!!! Yes, I couldn't believe that I was there and only watch the incredible movements of water. 

One stays there freaking colors tried to see if there's an elf underground with a hose! 

Parámos en Skálholt donde vimos una de las casas cubiertas de hierba, típicas casitas donde vivían antes los islandeses. 

Tambien vimos una pequeña cascada llamada Faxi. 

We stopped in Skálholt where I saw the typical grass house where Icelandics lived in the past and in Faxi waterfall!

SOUTH COAST . WATERFALLS. GLACIER HIKE.

Cuando decidí dejarlo todo, y cuando digo todo es todo ( la carrera de turismo a medias, mis amigos, mi familia, mi perrita, mi pareja, mi ciudad ...) para irme a vivir a Islandia, todos pensaban que era una locura. Un idioma totalmente distinto, el frío, diferentes costumbres...

Quizás sí, pero era mi locura, una locura que ahora se ha convertido en un sueño hecho realidad. 

Os preguntaréis por qué Islandia y no otro país, pues solo en mirar un poco más abajo lo entenderéis.

When I decided to leave my city, my family, my friends and my boyfriend to come  to live in iceland for the next 6 months, all people told me that I was crazy. 

Diferent language, too much cold,...

Yes, maybe it was, but it was my madness.

Un miércoles por la mañana, recién levantada, revisé mi correo electrónico como de costumbre, pero ese día tuve que volver a lavarme la cara dos veces más porque no me terminaba de creer lo que estaba leyendo. Sí señores y señoras, Laura y Andrea de Ideal Media se fijaron en mí y mis fotos via instagram y me propusieron ser la embajadora de Islandia! 

A wednesday morning, I started to read my email as I did every morning but this day I had to go to clean my face twice to believe what I was reading. Ladies and gentlemen, Laura and Andrea from Ideal Media, they fixed in me and my instagram photos to be the Ambassador of Iceland! 

Así que hablaron con Islandia Tours para que pudiese disfrutar de algunas de las excursiones más bonitas que este tour operador realiza junto a Iceland Excursions con la línea de buses Gray line Iceland y compartir con todos vosotros mi experiencia. Ellos aceptaron encantados y yo, feliz de que una empresa como Islandia Tours e Ideal media confiaran en mí para este proyecto. 

So, they spoke with Islandia Tours to let me enjoy some of the most beautiful excursions that this Spanish tour Operator organize with Iceland Excursions and the GrayLine buses and share my experience with all of you. 

Empezamos ! Let's start!

El pasado Domingo, a las ocho de la mañana, salíó el bus del centro de Reykjavik, justo delante de las oficinas de IcelandExcursions en dirección a la Costa Sud de Islandia, una de las zonas más bonitas de toda la isla. 

Last sunday, at eight o'click in the morning we started the excursion to the South Coast of Iceland, one of the most beautiful regions of the whole country. 

Empezamos el día con un sol radiante, algo no muy común en este país, así que nuestro guía decidió parar excepcionalmente a las afueras del pueblo de Selfoss para enseñarnos una cascada llamada Urriðafoss. 

We started the day stopping out the Selfoss village to see the Urriðafoss waterfall and take some photos. 

As a rule, they don't stop here, but it was a sunny day and the guide decided to show us. 

Paramos a desayunar en una área de servicio durante 20 minutos.

Then we stopped 20 minutes to eat something for breakfast.

El segundo sitio que visitamos fué la magnífica cascada llamada Skógafoss, donde tuvimos la suerte de ver unos arcoiris completos preciosos, incluso había momentos en que se dibujaban dos al mismo tiempo.  

Secondly, we visited the magnificent Skógafoss waterfall, where afortunately we saw a lot of rainbows. 

Y por fin llegamos al imponente glaciar Sólheimajökull, que significa glaciar del sol. Allí nos presentaron a los guías que nos enseñaron como teníamos que andar en el hielo y como ponernos los crampones. 

Finally, we arrived to the imposing Sólheimajökull glacier, that means sun's glacier. There, two guides teach us how to walk on the glacier and how to put the crampons on our feet. 

Aquí con mi amiga Olalla de Bilbao, al lado de uno de los agujeros más profundos que encontramos en el glaciar, ni más ni menos que de unos 50m de profundidad. 

She is Olalla from Bilbao and we are next to the deepest hole that we found it, about 50m depth. 

Y por supuesto, llenamos nuestras botellas de agua, en las pequeñas cascadas que encontramos durante el recorrido. Y deliciosa y fresquita, oye! 

And of course we fell our bottles of glacier water and then we drank . It was delicious and very cold.

Terminado el recorrido por el glaciar nos dirigimos al pueblo de Vík, para ver su bonita playa de arena negra con cuevas y la montaña formada por columnas de piedra. Un sitio mágico y con mucho encanto, ideal para ir pasear y desconectar. 

Next stop was Vik's beach, a place where the sand is back and there's some caves and a mountain formed by stone columns. 

A perfect place to go for a walk and relax. 

Después de tanto salto con mis amigos, Harris de Nueva York y John de Chicago nos dirigimos a un mirador al lado de la playa para ver los famosos Puffins ( unos pájaros muy característicos de la isla que tienen el pico naranja) pero no hubo suerte, estaban muy escondidos.  Eso sí, unas vistas maravillosas de la playa de Vík. 

After so jump with my friends, Harris from New York and Jhon from Chicago we went to the top of viewpoint to try to see some Puffins, but we didn't see. 

Even so, we enjoyed wonderful views of Vik's beach. 

Y para terminar este fabuloso día, volviendo a Reykjavik, paramos en la cascada llamada Seljalandsfoss, la única en la que se puede andar por detrás de la ruidosa cortina de agua. Que maravilla!! Espectacular!! 

Y sí, una vez más, para terminar bién el día, pudimos ver  algún que otro pequeño arcoiris. 

To complete this fabulous day, coming back to reykjavik, we stopped to the Seljalandsfoss waterfall, the only one that you can walk behind the water curtain. 

Yes, here we also saw a perfect rainbows. 

Conocer a John, fué muy especial ya que me contó que él había estado viviendo en mi ciudad Girona, incluso me ensenyó sus fotos, para que luego digan que el mundo no es un pañuelo!

Así que como podéis ver, pasé un día maravilloso, en los ricones más bonitos de Islandia y conociendo a gente majísima de todo el mundo! 

Met John was very special, as he told me that he was living for few days in my city, Girona. 

As you can see, I spent an awesome day  in the most beautiful places of this coutry and meeting nice people from all over the world.

BYE GIRONA . HELLO ICELAND

My travel to iceland started on 6th of April in Girona taking the TGV to Paris and took my flight to Iceland the day after.

                   

                

It was really hard to leave my friends, my little Biky, my family and my love but I knew that in Iceland I expected a really nice family ready to share with me a lot of beautiful moments . 

When I took my plane of Icelandair company in Charles de Gaule Airport I was very scared of traveling alone fortunately I had a very good flight.

  

After three hours I finally arrived to iceland, obviously it was very cold outside, specifically two degrees and the sky was completely gray.

Suddenly appeared a big smile on my face when I saw Björn and Torfhildur, they were very happy to see me! She hugged me tight and made me feel like at home. 

                    

My first meal! Sweet potatoe, salad and chiken with mushroms. Delicious! Thanks family :)

MAS SOLÀ HOTEL. SANTA COLOMA DE FARNERS

Welcome to Mas Solà Hotel! 

Two days before my icelandic adventure David and I decided to go to this amazing hotel situated in his village, called Santa Coloma de Farners. 

We didn't pay nothing because was a instagram's contest gift of Patronat Costa Brava i Pirineu. Thank you so much again!! 

Here you can see the hotel and the big garden with a lake. 

In the morning we where the only guests that the hotel had so we could decided what we wanted to eat! It was prepared specialy only for us!!! This is a typical catalan breakfast, bread with olive oil, cheese, jam and some sweet things. 

                

               

The views from our room were so beautiful and our little Biky was really happy to come with us and enjoy our lasts days together. 

We went to the spa during more than hour and we left very relaxed. 

Before to leave we took some photos outside the garden!
